Week 5 Day 1: Just As the Lord Commanded (Exodus 38-40)

By: Jeffrey Wong

The Israelites had done all the work just as the Lord had commanded Moses. Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the Lord had commanded. So Moses blessed them.

Exodus 39:42-43

In the last few chapters of Exodus, we read a description of how the Israelites built everything the Lord commanded them to make for the Tabernacle. They made all the alters, the basin for washing, the priestly garments, and the curtains.

When they finished everything, Moses inspected it and saw that it was exactly how God had prescribed it to him when he was on the mountain with God. As a result, Moses blessed the Israelites.

The Israelites were able to build the Tabernacle because God provided everything they needed to do it. He gave the knowledge required to Bezalel and Oholiab (Exodus 35:30-35). A lot of the materials the Israelites used for the tabernacle were given to them from the Egyptians since God made the Egyptians favor them (Exodus 12:33-36).

God will never tell you to do something that is impossible, because with God, all things are possible. He will provide everything you need in order to carry out the tasks He’s called you to do. Both the tasks now and the tasks in the future. So do not doubt, just do it by faith.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
