Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the Lord has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts. And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
Exodus 35:30-35
Building the Tabernacle and all the items in it was a huge task. No one has ever done it before and no one will do it again. How were the Israelites going to build it?
God chooses Bezalel to lead the construction with Oholiab as his assistant. Bezalel and Oholiab may already have skills, but God enhances their skill and gives them the knowledge and skill to do it (Exodus 35:30-35).
He even gave them the skill to be able to teach others because building the Tabernacle is not a two man job (Exodus 35:34). The trained builders to work with them.
The community was also involved as they gave the material as a form of offering. They gave so much that the builders told them to stop as they had enough material.
When God asks you to do something, have faith and do it. If there’s anything you need, whether it be knowledge, wisdom, skill, material, or even people, ask the Lord to provide.
Jesus says that whatever you ask in His name for God’s work, He will provide (John 14:13). This is so that God will be glorified. A lot of times this verse is misinterpreted and people have a lot of disappointments because they ask but they don’t receive. But it is because the things they ask for are not part of God’s will for them as their hearts are not aligned with God’s desires (James 4:3). Instead the things they ask for are for selfish desires.
But when you know that God has asked you to do something, you have God’s support, 100% and He will provide you what you need. That is why you can do all things because God gives you the strength.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
